Will this method of installation (as a VM) limit my use of the OS in anyway? I want to be able to quickly access certain programs that I can't use in Linux such as Photoshop and Ableton, so running Arch as a VM seems like the most appropriate method. My plan is just to follow through the wiki, and I know I'll be blindly entering some commands and whatnot. Like I said, I've never installed linux before, so I really have no gauge of what I will be doing. My mac came with internet recovery mode so typically I can always just system restore, but I'm not sure if this endeavor could potentially mess up my computer for good. What would be the best way of doing this? Parallels? VirtualBox?Īlso what risks am I taking as far as potentially messing up my computer? I paid a lot for this machine and I use it everyday. Has anybody here done this successfully? I really want to start messing around with Arch, but I've never installed any linux distro, and am kinda nervous of wrecking my machine. ![]()
